How to import an existing installation into Softaculous Print

Overview

If your website was installed manually or migrated from another host, you can import it into Softaculous. This allows you to manage backups, updates, staging, and cloning.

Step 1 — Open Softaculous

  1. Log in to DirectAdmin
  2. Go to Softaculous Apps Installer

Step 2 — Click “Import”

  • On the left menu, click Import
  • Select the CMS (WordPress, Joomla, Magento, etc.)

Step 3 — Enter the website path

Example:

  • Domain: yourdomain.com
  • Directory: leave empty (if installed in root)
  • If your site is in subfolder:
    /blog, enter blog

Step 4 — Import Database

Softaculous will detect the wp-config.php or configuration file and locate the database.

Step 5 — Start the Import

Click Import. Within seconds, the CMS will appear in your Softaculous “Installations” panel.
