Website Is Very Slow (Most Common Causes & Fixes)
Slow websites are usually caused by plugins, unoptimized images, or disabled caching.
1. Enable LiteSpeed Cache
Install the LiteSpeed Cache plugin for WordPress and enable:
- Page cache
- Image optimization
- Database optimization
2. PHP version
Go to Select PHP Version → use PHP 8.2 or newer for best speed.
3. Check CPU & RAM usage
Open Resource Usage and look for:
- CPU limit reached
- Memory limit reached
4. Disable heavy plugins
Avoid plugins like:
- Elementor Pro with too many add-ons
- Broken security plugins
- Image gallery plugins that do not compress images
5. Activate Cloudflare
This will reduce load time globally with CDN + caching.
6. Large images
Resize images to a max of 1920px before uploading.
