Overview

FTP is used to upload website files from your computer to your hosting account. You can use any FTP client such as FileZilla, WinSCP, or Cyberduck.

Step 1 – Create an FTP account

  1. Open DirectAdmin
  2. Go to Account Manager → FTP Management
  3. Click Create FTP Account
  4. Choose username, password, and folder path

Step 2 – Configure your FTP client

Use the following parameters:

Protocol: FTP
Host: yourdomain.com
Port: 21
Encryption: Use explicit FTP over TLS
Username: your FTP username
Password: your FTP password

Important: If your domain is not yet pointed, use the server IP:

157.180.52.85

Step 3 – Connect and upload files

After connecting, upload your website to:

/domains/yourdomain.com/public_html/

Troubleshooting

  • Incorrect login – reset FTP password in DirectAdmin
  • Timeouts – switch Encryption to “Only use plain FTP”
  • Files uploaded but not visible – upload inside public_html
  • 421 Too many connections – close unused FTP sessions
