How to create a quick backup from File Manager Print

Overview

Before making changes to your website, it’s recommended to create a quick backup. You can generate a ZIP archive of any folder directly from the File Manager.

Step 1 – Open File Manager

  1. Log in to DirectAdmin
  2. Go to System Info & Files → File Manager

Step 2 – Select files to back up

  1. Navigate to:
    /domains/yourdomain.com/public_html/
  2. Select the files and folders you want to back up

Step 3 – Create a ZIP archive

  1. Click Create Archive
  2. Choose .zip format
  3. Name the archive (example: backup-website.zip)
  4. Click Create

Step 4 – Download the backup

  1. Select the ZIP file
  2. Click Download

Important notes

  • Backups stored in your hosting count toward disk usage.
  • For full account backups, use JetBackup instead.
  • Large archives may take several minutes depending on your hosting plan.
