Overview
Before making changes to your website, it’s recommended to create a quick backup. You can generate a ZIP archive of any folder directly from the File Manager.
Step 1 – Open File Manager
- Log in to DirectAdmin
- Go to System Info & Files → File Manager
Step 2 – Select files to back up
- Navigate to:
/domains/yourdomain.com/public_html/
- Select the files and folders you want to back up
Step 3 – Create a ZIP archive
- Click Create Archive
- Choose .zip format
- Name the archive (example: backup-website.zip)
- Click Create
Step 4 – Download the backup
- Select the ZIP file
- Click Download
Important notes
- Backups stored in your hosting count toward disk usage.
- For full account backups, use JetBackup instead.
- Large archives may take several minutes depending on your hosting plan.
