Overview
If you accidentally deleted or changed a file and your website stopped working, you can restore it in two ways: File Manager backups or JetBackup.
Method 1 – Restore from quick File Manager backups
If you created a ZIP or file copy before editing:
- Open File Manager
- Locate your backup (ZIP or file-copy)
- Extract the backup or replace the changed file
Method 2 – Restore using JetBackup (recommended)
- Open DirectAdmin
- Go to Extra Features → JetBackup
- Select File Backups
- Choose a date
- Select the folders or files you want to restore
- Click Restore
Method 3 – Restore a WordPress version via Softaculous
- Open Softaculous
- Go to your WordPress installation
- Click Backups
- Choose a restore point
- Click Restore
Troubleshooting
- If the restore fails → not enough disk space.
- If your site shows a blank page → check PHP version.
- If CSS/JS missing → clear caching (Cloudflare + WordPress cache).
