How to restore files if something goes wrong Print

  • 0

Overview

If you accidentally deleted or changed a file and your website stopped working, you can restore it in two ways: File Manager backups or JetBackup.

Method 1 – Restore from quick File Manager backups

If you created a ZIP or file copy before editing:

  1. Open File Manager
  2. Locate your backup (ZIP or file-copy)
  3. Extract the backup or replace the changed file

Method 2 – Restore using JetBackup (recommended)

  1. Open DirectAdmin
  2. Go to Extra Features → JetBackup
  3. Select File Backups
  4. Choose a date
  5. Select the folders or files you want to restore
  6. Click Restore

Method 3 – Restore a WordPress version via Softaculous

  1. Open Softaculous
  2. Go to your WordPress installation
  3. Click Backups
  4. Choose a restore point
  5. Click Restore

Troubleshooting

  • If the restore fails → not enough disk space.
  • If your site shows a blank page → check PHP version.
  • If CSS/JS missing → clear caching (Cloudflare + WordPress cache).
