How to protect your site with Cloudflare (Recommended) Print

Overview

Cloudflare adds an additional layer of protection and performance to your website by filtering malicious traffic, blocking attacks, and speeding up your site globally. VexoWeb strongly recommends enabling Cloudflare for all domains.

Step 1 — Create a Cloudflare account

Go to:

https://dash.cloudflare.com/

Step 2 — Add your domain

  1. Click Add a Site
  2. Select the Free Plan
  3. Cloudflare will automatically scan your DNS records
  4. Review the DNS zone and continue

Step 3 — Update nameservers

Cloudflare will provide you with new nameservers. Replace your old nameservers with the new ones at your domain registrar.

Step 4 — Verify your DNS records

Make sure the following are correct:

A → yourdomain.com → 157.180.52.85
A → www → 157.180.52.85
MX → yourdomain.com
TXT → SPF / DKIM / DMARC (from Brevo)

Recommended Cloudflare settings

1. SSL Mode (important)

Go to SSL/TLS → Overview and choose:

Full (Strict)

2. Security settings

  • Bot Fight Mode → ON
  • WAF → ON (Free plan includes basic rules)
  • Rate Limiting → Recommended for wp-login.php

3. Performance settings

  • Auto Minify → HTML / CSS / JS
  • Brotli compression → ON
  • Caching level: Standard
